Therapeutic horticulture
for wellbeing and connection

Helping people and communities develop a gentler relationship with themselves through gardening and nature connection

Well Grown offers therapeutic horticulture programs, training and support for organisations and communities.
Grounded in a person-centered approach, my work uses gardening and nature-based activities to nurture wellbeing, strengthen connections and resilience, and create opportunities for personal and community growth.
Whether through workshops, ongoing programs, staff training or program development, my goal is to create welcoming spaces where people can connect, learn, contribute and grow.

Therapeutic horticulture is a practice that uses gardening and nature-based activities to support physical, emotional and social wellbeing.
Through meaningful participation in gardens, people are supported to build confidence, develop skills, strengthen social connections, experience a sense of purpose and reconnect with themselves, others and the natural world.
Nature is a powerful regulator of the nervous system and our relationship with it plays an essential role in helping us feel grounded and connected.

Therapeutic horticulture has been shown to:

  • promote mental and psychological well-being

  • cultivate mindfulness

  • nurture resilience and community connections

  • reduce stress and anxiety

  • bring about a sense of joy and hope.

My therapeutic horticulture sessions are as varied and diverse as my clients

Well Grown
workshops and programs are based on principles of therapeutic horticulture, with a focus on resilience through food growing and sustainability, as well as nature-based art and mindfulness practices, with a strong emphasis on the importance of community connections.
My programs are flexible in nature, adaptable to the cohort I am working with and responsive to the group’s energy.

Gardens offer a space for connection, belonging, learning and healing. My approach combines horticultural knowledge with gentle facilitation, creating spaces where people feel welcome to participate, contribute and grow at their own pace.

Well Grown programs and services are person-centered and identity affirming.
